Everyone is Welcome Here

To fulfill our vision of “Serving God by Serving All People,” Siloam members operate coordinates with several key Community Partners and operate community programs to serve individuals, families, and children in need in the Bedford-Stuyvesant community at-large.

HIV does not kill people.

YOUR BODY IS A TEMPLE (Y.B.I.T.) Health Ministry

“What, know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?” I Corinthians 6:19

Our mission is based on the above Scripture verse, to serve our community in health-related issues through education, health services, and spiritual tools.  Since 2007, we have held workshops, health fairs, and prayer services.  We have provided free tests to include HIV/AIDS, Blood Pressure, Blood Glucose, etc.  In our church sanctuary, there is a prayer wall on which people may place the names of loved ones who are in need of prayer for various illnesses based on each month’s category.

Every 4th Saturday we provide free HIV testing from 10 am to 12 noon as we partner with Siloam’s Membership Committee, which sponsors its “Meet Your Neighbors Breakfast.”

The Ministry has received a grant from National Black Leadership Commission on AIDS (NBLCA), under the leadership of our former pastor, Rev. Darryll Young, for the past 11 years as part of NBLCA’s NYC Council Faith-based HIV/AIDS Initiative Program, to educate and test our community regarding HIV/AIDS.

In addition to BLCA NYC, the Health Ministry began working with the NYC Department of Health Faith-based Initiative to involve the faith-based community in health promotion and disease prevention since 2017. With this partnership, the ministries conducted blood pressure screenings, mental health first aid training, and add healthy eating options to events.

We are thankful to our Siloam members and friends who support our efforts in this ministry. As we continue to do God’s calling, we know that if we are faithful, He will give us the increase.

Please join us on Sundays at 11:00 a.m. for Worship Service!
